STOP with the Trusted Advisor‽
This session will be dedicated to the possibility that the phrase “trusted advisors” is overused by professionals and may, in fact, be doing more harm than good. While aspiring to be a trusted advisor is certainly noble, saying ahead of time that want to be one may be akin to asking, “How many kids are we having?" on a first date. Changing the perception of professionals on this topic will not be easy as it is ubiquitous and entrenched and requires us to examine our beliefs about this topic. If you think that “trusted advisor” is overused, you are hereby invited to open a dialogue about how best to alter this language.
